1. How they are made — materials & quality

Every kitchen accessory is made by hand in our Latvia workshop from carefully chosen materials. Wooden pieces use solid hardwood (ash, walnut) or Baltic birch plywood faced with genuine wood veneer on all sides, sealed to resist the moisture, splashes and steam of everyday kitchen life. Ash hardwood is used in our wine and glass holders — a dense, hard-wearing wood that shrugs off knocks and daily use. Metal pieces use heavy-gauge steel finished with an industrial powder coat or a naturally aged rusted patina.

  • Real materials, not laminate — solid wood, Baltic birch plywood with real wood veneer, and powder-coated steel.
  • Sealed for the kitchen — wooden surfaces are finished on every side so splashes and steam wipe away cleanly.
  • Built to last — heavy, stable bases and hidden fixings; knife holders take blades up to 20 cm, wine holders fit standard 75 cl bottles.
  • One tree per order — for every order placed we plant one tree as part of our reforestation commitment.

2. Design, interiors, wood finishes & who they are for

These accessories are designed to sit on display, not hide in a drawer. The clean, sculptural shapes suit the kitchen interior styles people are reaching for in 2026 — Scandinavian, Japandi, warm minimalism, mid-century, organic modern and contemporary, plus industrial and farmhouse looks for the steel pieces. A walnut knife block reads as warm and considered; a pale ash wine holder keeps an open-plan kitchen feeling light; a rusted-steel utensil set adds honest industrial texture.

Available wood finishes (finishes vary by model — solid-wood and veneer pieces are offered in the tones below; metal pieces come in powder-coat colours):

EWART WOODS wood finish variations — oak, walnut, ash and wenge
  • Oak — neutral, warm-light grain; the most versatile finish, ideal for Scandinavian and Japandi kitchens.
  • Walnut — rich, warm-dark grain for modern, industrial and mid-century kitchens.
  • Ash — pale, fine grain that keeps bright, open-plan kitchens feeling light.
  • Wenge — deep, almost-black grain for bold, statement kitchens.

Who they are for. This collection suits home cooks who want their everyday tools organised and on show, anyone furnishing a new kitchen or home bar, and gift-buyers looking for a housewarming or wedding present with real craft behind it. Start with the essentials in knife holders and kitchen organizers, then add a spice rack, fruit bowl or serving tray to finish the room.

Frequently asked questions

What is the best wooden knife holder for a small kitchen?

For a small kitchen, a wall-mounted knife holder is the best solution — it keeps all blades visible and accessible without taking up any counter space. Our wall-mounted knife rack uses hidden fixings and holds 4–10 standard kitchen knives flat against the wall. If you prefer a countertop option, our walnut or oak knife block stand has a minimal footprint and fits most blade sizes.

How do I choose between a walnut and an oak kitchen accessory?

Walnut has a rich, warm-dark grain that pairs well with dark countertops, stainless steel and modern kitchens. Oak is lighter and more neutral, working beautifully with white, grey or natural-wood kitchens. Both are dense, hard-wearing woods. You can read more about our wood properties here.

How do I clean a wooden kitchen organizer?

All our wooden kitchen accessories use a sealed veneer or oiled finish. Wipe clean with a slightly damp cloth and dry immediately. Do not submerge them in water or put them in a dishwasher. Occasional oiling with a food-safe wood oil (mineral oil or beeswax) keeps the surface in great condition.

What size are the wooden wine and glass holders?

Our wine holders are countertop pieces sized for standard 75 cl bottles. The solid-ash V-type holder is about 45 × 20.5 × 9.5 cm and holds one bottle horizontally with two glasses; the box holder holds one bottle upright with one glass slot. Wine and glasses are not included.

Can kitchen accessories be personalised as a gift?

Yes — several items in the kitchen collection can be engraved with a name, initials or a short message. Knife holders, wine holders and serving trays are the most popular choices for personalised kitchen gifts, housewarming presents and wedding gifts. Please contact us before ordering to confirm engraving options.

Do the metal utensil holders work outside the kitchen?

Yes. The rusted industrial steel utensil holders are versatile — use them for spoons, forks and cooking tools, or as pen and stationery organisers in a home office. They are heavy and stable, and the rusted finish is suitable for outdoor use too.

Do you ship kitchen accessories to the US and worldwide?

Yes — we ship worldwide from Latvia, Europe. US delivery typically takes 7–14 business days. All kitchen items arrive fully finished and ready to use, with no assembly required.
